Stopped in on New Years Day because my regular spot, Indus, was closed. Was encouraged by the good reviews, but that was not my experience. I hate to blow up a spot like this with some negative shit, but I gots to be that dude. Where do I begin? Most items in the buffet were close to empty- 90 minutes before it closed, so it's not like we caught the tail end. It was busy, but not packed, so really no excuse. The few pieces of naan looked like shit. No daal of any kind. Butter chicken was full of gristle. Some tasty stuff too- tandoori chicken was good- but not worthy of such high reviews. Service was equally unimpressive. Had to continually ask for refills on water, as the waiter kept walking past our empty glasses with a water pitcher. Guy clearing plates put a stack of a dozen dirty dishes on our table, while we were eating. Had to ask twice for the check, which took about 15 minutes altogether. Whatevs, I usually only tip couple bucks at a buffet anyway so I wasn't gonna lose sleep over leaving nothing. Worst part was that it was the "special" buffet that cost 18 bucks a person. I felt ripped off. Indus totally crushes this place on every level of food and service. I will not be back here anytime soon.

Great food, just the right amount of spice! Indian restaurants many times taste too spicy (hot) for western taste. Every single item in the buffet was delicious!!!

So I ordered via the website for dine in express. Apparently I'm the only one who can read because I'm the only person who has ever actually dined in and not pick up. ( Which is an option on the site ), after we got all that figured out they plated the food and the true experience began. The vegetable somas was a little thick but delicious and came three per serving. The food was delicious! My grandmother who doesn't like cream was ready to lick the bowl the chicken korma was in. Pricey but because the portions are larger. If you even think you like Indian food this is the destination to go in this area.

My favorite spot for a lunch buffet. Each time I am in town, I go to A Taste of India because I know I will get quality food at a good price. If you like Indian cuisine, stop by this place. The lunch buffet has so many options that you can't go wrong. So good, so tasty. The restaurant is very nice inside and the staff has always been friendly.

The lunch buffet - OM NOM NOM NOM. The service is wonderful - we were seated right away and had our glasses filled with water not even a minute after being seated. The food is what's important, though. A wide array of food to try, and honestly I can't remember half of the things I tried since it's been a few weeks since I went there.... oh well, I guess that's reason enough to go back! I especially enjoyed their chicken 65 and trying iddli with all of the different curries. They had a large selection of desserts too! My favorite was the bread pudding, although it was a little on the lumpy side. I can't wait to go back!

The food is spectacular and the service is fantastic!! Great people there! They treat you super well and the clean your table all the time!!! Amazing experience and I will definitely come back!!! Loved it!!!!!

I highly recommend this place. If you're looking for a wide variety, authentic food, friendly service and a clean environment... This place is highly rated by others for these reasons. The staff were so helpful and wonderdul to talk to about the different foods and flavors. I'll be going back.

I have gone my whole life thinking that I hated Indian food. My husband talked me into trying Taste of India because he had heard it was really good and I gave in. Oh, how wrong I was. I didn't hate Indian food, I just hadn't had GOOD Indian food. And the food here is stellar. My favorite thing on the menu is the Neelgiri Korma with shrimp. Their lunch buffet is excellent and a really good opportunity to try lots of different stuff. Very, very good.

Excellent weekend buffet. Weekday buffet is also good. Service is prompt and professional. Everything we had here was fresh and tasty, including the dessert. Can we really be in Florida?

The best indian Resturant in palm beach! The food is great and the owners are fantastic!

Happy New Year! We were just charged $17.99 for a "Special Buffet"! The food which is normally splendid was fairly sucky and there was no signage indicating that we would be sodomized with an outrageous check. If we had known it was $18 a head for a buffet, we wouldn't have eaten there! We asked a server about the check and he nodded saying "yes today it is special". What? Put a sign up with the price so people can at least be informed of how much they will soon be gouged. Hate!

I was only one in there weekday night. Parking easy, even when busy. Prices not cheap, not astronomical. Waiters hung over me when they came a big long. Very good food. Would return.

Went back again, also tried new dishes , I mean the food is very authentic and the atmosphere is electric. Best in West Palm. Being from Miami , we have some good Indian restaurants but this is even better. The staff is friendly and a good variety of Indian drinks and wines. Remember to try a little spice hum. Good desserts too.

Ridiculously spicy food! Everything they had on this night was way over spiced! Butter chicken? Over spiced!! The cost was ridiculous! I live in Los Angeles and our one main entree and 2 apps cost 32 dollars??? Am I missing something? Waiter was nice. That's why it's 2 stars at not 1. But everything was way over spiced and inedible. I hate wasting food but we had to throw it out.

In town for some work and hit yelp for something nearby. Indian? Why yes thank you very much. The place is in a little shopping center. Greeted at the door, seated, waited on quickly. I ordered, the waitress suggested something else but I stayed with my decision. Chicken Tikka Marsala. I ordered in medium but it was the sweetest I have ever had. Next time I will order a little spicier. Service here is quick and good, impressive for an Indian restaurant.

This is by far some of the best Indian food I have ever had! The staff is always sociable and very friendly with patrons. From their interactions it's obvious a lot of the customers are regulars. It's always packed here, but it's always worth the wait. I highly recommend the chicken tikka masala, the channa masala, and the lamb vindaloo. There's also an appetizer made with cauliflower and a spicy sweet sauce I can't quite remember the name of, but if you visit be sure to order it!

Decided to take the family out to Indian tonight. Wow! Blown away with the service and the food. The owner was terrific. He came right over to help my wife with all of her vegan choices. We ate two starters and then went family style with three vegan dishes, naan for me and the kids and some vegan bread. I thought the appearance of the restaurant was very nice and the place was hopping on a Sunday evening! The reviews don't lie. This place delivers on all fronts. We will most certainly add this to our frequents dining options.

When I see a poorly written review like Tony D., I'm forced to waste a few minutes giving the appropriate perspective on the best Indian restaurant in Palm Beach. Indian food can be either extremely good or awfully bad. This place does it right consistently. The clientele does not lie, they have steady business always. The fact that this greasy fellow strolls in on New Year's Day and has issue is comical within itself. I'm sure the cooks and service personnel were not giving their best performance after a long night. Indians party hard, give them a break. The food is delicious and they always are super friendly.

    (4)
  • D F.

Courteous staff, bright and eclectic ambiance, and great food. The buffet items are all very fresh and there is a good selection. The naan was crisp and light, and they are quick to refill your water. I would definitely go back; best North Indian I've had in SoFL.

  • Felix M.

The service is exceptional! From the moment you walk in, you greeted with a smile. Your glass is constantly filled, and the servers make sure that you are enjoying yourself. The place was very clean, well decorated, and the variety of food was great! I like food spicy, they prepare the food to be mild to please the majority, but do offer different sauces to spice thing up. As I asked for the check, and was kindly reminded to not forget about dessert. I really enjoyed myself. Again the service was excellent! Not what you would expect from a buffet.

  • Carrissa R.

Very authentic and very delicious! The staff was awesome. Four stars because the location is out of the way and its in a kind of strip plaza...wouldn't have tried it based on appearances.

A decent restaurant, especially an ethnic restaurant, is so hard to find in this area. They do the basics well (like Chicken Tika Masala), and they also have lots of regional dishes that are a bit more unusual. The service was excellent, and they made good suggestions for my in-laws who are not so experienced with Indian foods. I will definitely be going back on my next visit.

If you are in West Palm and are looking for flavorful Indian Cuisine, you can't go wrong with Taste of India. Everything is homemade and freshly prepared. The Naan is Especially tasty. If you are a value shopper , go during lunch hours (including weekends which has a larger assortment for a few more $) and enjoy a fantastic buffet that has choices for most every taste, including my personal favorite: Curried Goat! The ambiance is clean and inviting and Bollywood is always on the tube for your entertainment pleasure. If the check is slow to get to your table, put the fork down and don't act like you are chewing. Simple politeness in their culture. Or, just ask for it.....

This was a top notch meal. Excellent butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. Also the garlic naan was great. We were there on Monday night and there was a good crowd. Service was very good as well!

  • Melanie C.

Food was authentic and delicious. Service was professional and quick. Portions were huge and prices were good. (You would not believe the amount of food I got for $14.99!!! At least 3 meals worth). What more could you ask for? Definitely coming back! PS get the garlic naan as a side!!

If you enjoy Indian food, I highly recommend this place. I celebrated a birthday dinner here, and then today experienced my first weekend buffet lunch. Before arriving, I had called to make sure that ordering from the menu is possible even when the buffet is going on. In the 25 years since I first tasted Indian food and really liked it, I have seen my share of not-so-great-looking buffets. Dark rooms with about 6 options total, and my menu favorite (Palak Paneer) never one of them. So I was prepared to forgo the buffet. My friend and I entered just after they opened at noon, and a group of very friendly servers and a manager (or owner perhaps) greeted us. I immediately said it was my friend's first time for Indian, and could we please have menus. We were given a tour and explanation of the buffet first, and boy was I sold. Instead of the omelet guy you see at so many Sunday brunches, here it's a guy making Poori on a griddle- some kind of puffed rice cakes considered street food he told me. There was a lovely garbanzo bean (aka chickpeas) mix, and then salad stuff (which holds no interest for me and was thus ignored). Then the two different kinds of rice, white and vegetable Biryani. To go over the rice was my favorite, a spinach with Indian cheese dish, or Butter Chicken (very popular), and about 5 other things that I have now forgotten, but all of which looked appealing. Oh yes, there is also a huge platter of chicken- wings, tandoori, curry, tiki masala, all sliced in pieces. Then there were 6 different chutneys and sauces, all so good. Third plate was for the dessert table. I can't name the proper names as the items were all new to me, but I had 3 things that were all very good. One was a warm, white liquid in a cup, one looked like brown bread was really made from carrots and was delicious, and one was a syrupy donut. The buffet is $15 for all you can eat, and this one is truly worth it. Next time I will go with someone who eats a lot more than the very skinny friend who joined me today. I had to reign myself in! Naan is brought fresh to the table during the meal by the way- that delicious Indian bread. This is the first Indian restaurant I have visited where the Naan is sliced into small triangles rather than served whole. We never lacked for anything as the service was so kind and helpful. I can't wait to go back to another buffet!

Great dinner! We ordered naan, samosa, vegetable masala, saag paneer, eggplant bharta, a coondapur chicken, and a dosa. Everything was really tasty and beautifully presented. The staff was efficient and pleasant. Best Indian food I have had in Palm Beach county. Definitely recommend.

Taste of India is a fabulous restaurant with authentic Indian food and a kick-ass buffet! It's one of my favorite places to eat, and everything I've had has been phenomenal. The staff is friendly and remembers our names and orders, which is always very appreciated. On weekends it can get a bit crowded, but it's worth the wait!

Since I moved to Florida, there has been a lack of variety of things to do in comparison to Los Angeles, my former home. I decided to accompany my brother to do some mystery shopping for his company of stores in Palm Beach. We discovered this restaurant and he had been before, telling me it was delicious and the service was good. I had my doubts, but he was right. It had everything I wanted: good food, good service, a decent price and a good variety of cultural food that I wanted! Yum! We selected the buffet style! It was delicious. Great spices, delicious rice, good chicken and a very nice atmosphere. The service was very nice and attentive, but I think it had to do a little bit impart that my brother was recognized. nevertheless, they were always there and very warm and polite demonstrating they care about their clients. I observed them doing this to other tables as well. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in the area.

Best Indian food I have had in Florida second to none. The service was friendly, fast and all around excellent. We had a very large party with children and really the service was great. The food was served promptly and it truly exceed everyone's expectations. Everybody at the table has eaten a lot of Indian food a none of us have found anything remotely close to this good in southern Florida. We had to many dishes to list here but every dish was fantastic. I can't wait to go back.

What a great treat. The buffet has a large selection and the flavored are delicate and refined. This restaurant is now on my keeper list.

The for is the best I've had in the states. There is a authentic Indian market next door to buy Samosas and more to take home to enjoy the eating experience again.

  • Weson I.

Let me set the record straight, as an indian, giving them 3 stars is already way too much. They also said the Lion Safari is 5 minutes from here and it turns out to be 30. Lied to get us through the front door because business was obviously slow. Food quality is meh.

    (2)
  • Dawn O.

Disgusting, dirty, and rude staff. There are live roaches on the floor in the bathroom! I've never been so grossed out!! The buffet was out of half the dishes and the ones there had been sitting out all day. The meat was chewy and fatty. The place is dirty and the staff rushed us out.

We go to this restaurant frequently. We have traveled the world and this is one of our favorite places on the PLANET. The food is fantastic and the staff is exceptional. They work together as family and they care about your satisfaction. I hope that you try this restaurant with your family so you can experience the joy of fine Indian Dining.

The good news. The Jamaican server was the best thing about this place, PERIOD!!!! I ordered masala paneer dosa. I make better tasting dosa from a box. The dosa tasted rubbery like it was infused with extra gluten. The minuscule serving of paneer cheese tasted like crumbling chalk. The scant pieces potaotoes were tasteless I ordered chai. It did taste like chai but they used cows milk and I had to add sugar. I anticipated my chai to be sweetened with condense milk. And here is the worst part. The tiny cup of chai was $2.99 and the dosa $10.99. I also think the restaurant could be cleaner. I am glad I did not order anything more complex off the menu. Wait until you hit parts of NJ and NY, especially Murray Hill ( NYC) and Hicksville, NY to tast authentic Indian Cuisine. I can only hope the quality of their food improve. The diversity in cuisine is welcomed but lacking in taste and cleanliness. BTW I have read all the reviews and have come to the conclusion that this restaurant has a split personality. How can some of us patrons have had such horrible experience and some such glowing experiences. Is the restaurant shared by different cooks and operators on different nights/days. I ate their on Sunday April 20, 2015. Maybe it was my bad luck to eat the day/night the shitty cooks was on duty. I agree with the lady who saw roaches and a filthy bathroom. I was trying to be kind.

Decided to swing by for lunch after seeing the glowing reviews. House of India was just as promised. Not only was the décor welcoming and bright, but the food was tasty and inexpensive, and the buffet was very clean. Servers immediately brought water and let us make work of the bountiful lunch buffet options. Salads, curries, paneer, tandoori chicken, and butter chicken, there was plenty of variety. While there was definitely some kick to the dishes, nothing I had was too spicy for a heat-intolerant wimp like me. They also brought fresh naan for our table, served warm from the oven to sop up the rich sauces. For dessert there was a choice of a sweet carrot dish or a rice pudding. I found that both were very good, although the rice pudding had me going back for seconds. Some might not like the perfume-y style of the rosewater, but I find it to lend a dulcet note that is unparallelled in flavor. The addition of nuts adds a nice textural contrast as well. Great service and cuisine, House of India really satisifed my Indian food craving. Overall, I would highly recommend it, and I have no doubt that if I lived closer, I would become a regular.

Great food and nice people! Every single dish that I have ordered here has been delicious except for one but only because I ordered it way too spicy but it was still delicious. Come to this small restaurant and you won't be disappointed!

This place is awesome! The food, atmosphere and most of all the service! I originally had a reservation that I had to cancel on short notice. I decided to order take out from the place instead. When I got there and told them I had to cancel because I was waiting for a delivery to my house, the staff there told my wife and I to sit down and that our order would be out immediately. We were able to sit down, order and eat our meals in less than 20 mins! Thank you Taste of India! I would highly recommend this place. The staff there is very accommodating and provide excellent service. Food is amazing! I will be back for sure! Try the Chicken Chutney Wala or Chicken Korma!

Usually, I don't regret living in Miami, but when I came across this place, I immediately started envying the Palm Beach residents. I have yet to come across a buffet as large as this one, with so many different delicious offerings, and at a great price! Why can't we have this in Miami? Hell, I will even settle for driving to Broward if they have something like this! If I am anywhere remotely close to Palm Beach, I will force whoever I am with to come here. It's almost worth the drive.

We went to the restaurant as Indian food neophytes. The Sunday buffet certainly had a large variety of dishes that mostly looked appealing. Most of the dishes had the name of the food, but gave no insight into the ingredients. Most items were tasty, but I don't feel that I could differentiate the many dishes. Service was attentive, but the wait staff was poor in helping us identify the dishes we were eating. A good sign was that the restaurant was busy, and that there were many Indian customers--no doubt a testament to the authenticity of the food. Definitely worth a return visit.

Freaking awesome! Can't go wrong here. Went for dinner. Everything was good, service, cleanliness. Food was authentic. And I always love the music videos must be Indian MTV. As usual It gets a five out of five.

Okay, okay, I'm very glad I gave Taste of India another chance - I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed their lunch buffet! The first time I came here, the staff basically MADE us order from the buffet, to which I refused and walked out. This time, my parents wanted to have a different Easter this year and we made reservations at this restaurant. THANK GOODNESS for the reservations - the place was PACKED when I arrived. Of course, it was a holiday, so that's to be expected... but the service was extremely friendly and accommodating, even under all of the pressure of a full restaurant. The buffet was nothing short of delicious. The choices were plenty and I loved the green lentil dish they offered. In and out in under 30 minutes - left satisfied and happy with a different view on the place. Yes, you'll enjoy Taste of India - it's flavorful, tasty Indian food.

All my life I have never really enjoyed Indian food. I love this place. I have my favorite: Lamb Chop Masala - an ever so slightly sweet tomato based sauce. Dip Garlic Naan in the sauce with the meal and I am very happy. :)

Taste of India is by far the best Indian restaurant I've been to. I have become a regular at their weekend lunch buffet and not once have I been disappointed. Great deal for $13.99! Excellent blend of spices, food is kept nice and hot, and fresh naan. Great service as well.

Service is like no other. Food is amazing. Never had Indian food that tasted so good. Customer service was top-notch!!!! Will be coming in again if I'm in West Palm Beach. Try their Strawberry or Mango Lassi drink.

Came here with some friends from India on a Sunday for their brunch. They knew the chef so he personally came out to greet us and spend time talking. What a lovely and genuine man. OMG the sights and smells that hit you as soon as you enter the door made me want to bypass the seating and get started! The interior is beautifully decorated and the seating is comfortable and spacious. I typically steer clear from buffets but this was one of the best I ever had. Delicious and well laid out. I tried so many new things, including indian street style food. Everything was so FRESH, I could not believe it was possible in a buffet! I honestly cannot remember all the names of the things I tried besides your standard chicken tikka marsala Crunchy things were crunchy, creamy was creamy and HOT! So many sauces and the dessert table stared me down the two trips I made to the buffet. The naan they brought to our table continuously was so hot and fresh and reminded me of being in NY enjoying my favorite Indian joint. The staff was incredible. We stayed well after the lunch buffet closed chatting and having a great time while lingering over our desserts of fresh fruit, this carrot salad with fresh ginger and fried syrup laden dough balls. Come here for a real taste of India!

Wow! How have I driven by this place a million times and not gone in. The service was friendly. The atmosphere surprisingly quite nice. The food was so delicious. The fish curry had spice, but was perfectly balanced.I had an eggplant appetizer that was fantastic. The photos below do not do the food justice. This place is fantastic. I am still stuffed and ate there hours ago. I couldn't stop myself. I hope this strange location for such a jewel does not deter you! Go in! You will be so pleased that you did! I am thinking about the naan ... will return this weekend!

I'm no expert on Indian cuisine and I've only gotten into it in the last few years. Having said that, this was the first place I ever had Chicken Tikka Masala and since then I've visited James Beard Award winning Indian restaurants that didn't even come close to the chicken tikka here. My first experience was a huge eye opener for me as to what I have been missing out on all these years... I kind of had a culinary epiphany. I know that it's crazy I am saying some place tucked away in West Palm Beach has the best tikka masala but that's my story and I'm standing by it for now. This place is very kid friendly and the staff is super nice but don't expect them to act like they are in a hurry. They kind of take their time but the food is good so you'll get over it.

Disclosure: I am a brit and Brits think Indian food is a national food! This is probably the best Indian food in South Florida. It's South Indian style with meat!! A nice clean well decorated restaurant. The chap who served us was really friendly and helpful. We all enjoyed our food. The Phal was excellent and spicy hot. My wife was delighted that they had goat as well as lamb. Our friends thought their food was fantastic. I'd give the restaurant 5 stars if our tandoori appetizer was a little more moist but overall it's GREAT

Went here for lunch on a Saturday and it was pretty empty. I was happy to see the dosa station and was greeted by an employee. I ordered a mango lassi to drink and it was good but it could have been a little less sweet. The buffet had many different items but they didn't have any samosas. The waitress brought over a basket of nans to our table and we made several trips to try everything there. They had a table of fruits and a table of desserts which included my favorite: Gulab jamun. They also had rice pudding, carrot dessert and something else. After they gave us the check, they came over like 5 times to pick up the check. It wasn't like they needed the table. The place was pretty empty. The only little issue I had there was the floor. I was slipping all over the place. I'm not a fan of tiles at restaurants.

It was my first time trying Indian food. Me and my date got different entrees and shared them. I liked both dishes. Service was good, the waiter help me pick my meal because i had no idea what to get. I want to go back for the lunch all you can eat buffet.

Great food! The decor is decent and the staff was really nice. They have a great lunch buffet. I would highly recommend taking someone here if they've never had indian food. Weekend buffet is $13.99 without a drink and includes a chat station (indian street food snack), vegetarian and non vegetarian items. The butter chicken is amazing and they have a tandoor chicken going that is also very good. The idlis (South Indian food) were not great but that was the only thing. Huge selection, you won't be disappointed.

1st Visit: Take Out I have passed Taste of India a few times and was finally ready to try it after a friend mentioned that she loved their lunch buffet. I ordered my food to go so I don't want to comment on service or the environment but I will say the place was very clean and attractive when I picked up the food. I ordered samosas, tamarind eggplant, and lamb kabob. The samosas were very good, though I would have had a bit more punch to them if I made them at home. I was not a fan of the lamb kabob as it was processed. The tamarind eggplant was INCREDIBLE. I will go to Taste of India again and try a few more dishes but for now, I gave T of I 3 stars. 2nd Visit: Dining In I went back to Taste of India, but this time I dined in. I again had the samosas and I still feel that they could use a bit more spice. I also ordered Aloo Gobi and found it to be very tasty. The vegetables were cooked well and the flavor was on point with what I expected. My dining partner and I also ordered a half order of Tandori Chicken that was crisp and flavorful. We also tried the Lamb and it was juicy and delicious. The service of the waitstaff was very good and it was so wonderful I added a star to my first review.

I went to this place after a conference and was pleasantly surprised. The lunch buffet had plenty of options. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. If you want a quick and flavorful lunch, I recommend this place.

I'm on an Indian food kick most of the time and I was looking forward to this place because of all the Yelp reviews. It did not live up to my expectations. M-F buffet is $9.99, weekends are $13.99. All the menu items are pretty much on the buffet. Has the popular dishes of course. The food was warm, plenty of everything, fresh for a buffet, it was all mild in spiciness. It was kind of bland. They do have a bar set up with different spices and seasonings that you can add to your food. The restaurant itself in nice and clean. The service others were getting seemed good, our waiter sucked, we actually had to ask another waiter for our check, forget about getting drink refills. I would say about average. And, in all honesty, we won't be back. Saffron is definitely a better choice.

This my go to place for Indian food. Fantastic lunch buffet for 10.00. A great deal with over 20 different items. I love the vegetarian items with the huge selection of sauces and chutneys. They always have Tandoori chicken, yum. Love the nan bread they serve. My 7 year old even found a few items she would eat. I highly recommend this place.

I love Indian food, but more than just loving Indian food, I love good Indian food and in West Palm Beach Taste of India takes the cake. I actually first had their food when I was visiting my brother in Melbourne where they have another location, but didn't make it to the one in West Palm Beach until a month later. I was not disappointed. The food is always fresh and delicious. The naan is buttery and perfect for scooping or dipping. The staff is friendly and attentive. Bottom line: there is not better Indian around and kudos to the management and owner for such a great dining experience.

Every time I stopped by for lunch the food was very fresh and the staff is very nice and helpful. I love lamb and tried it one night and came out extremely well. I have never had a bad experience and look forward to my next visit.

Delicious food every time we go to Taste of India. Lasuni gobi is such a treat and the vegan and vegetarian dishes are terrific. Our children have learned to enjoy Indian cuisine here thanks to the wide variety of menu options. Very attentive staff.

Admittedly, Indian food isn't for everyone. I have friends that simply are not interested in joining my girlfriend and I when we need our next Indian fix. However, Taste of India is so good, so special a restaurant, that I wouldn't hesitate to bring anyone along. Every buffet is a feast with a ton of food available, and I'm sure everyone could find at least one item that they like. The restaurant is always very busy and lively, and the staff is always friendly.

Fantastic! Naan bread served automatically, a variety of homemade chutneys, tamarind rice-- unbeatable lunch buffet. Mango lassi was enormous and delicious.

First time visitors to Taste of India, but definitely no strangers to quality Indian food. We have traveled far and experienced good Indian restaurants in Singapore, England, Scotland, Canada, Europe and India itself. Taste of India is up there with the very best. The quality of service is excellent, attentive but discrete. The restaurant itself is very clean and tastefully decorated and the quality of the food is as good as I have tasted in any Indian restaurant. Sauces where subtle and engaging and the meats and vegetables were of superior quality. A great asset to the WPB area for those who crave good Indian food.

I'm not a big reviewer. It takes a lot for me to even write one. But taste of India met the challenge. The food was so good I had to ask them to take why was left and package it to go just so would stop eating! The mixed tandoori grill is to die for. When they brought it out there was so much food on it I thought it was for the party sitting next to me. The tikka masala sauce was amazing. My wife took one taste and said it was so good she would eat anything covered in it, including road kill... The best review I can give is that I had to loosen my belt before I could drive home. I highly recommend not making any plans after you eat here, you will need a lot of time to digest.

I have tried many Indian Restaurants in Broward and Palm Beach, and finally found the best place for PB county! The food was delicious...hot, fresh, and great spices. I had a veggie curry and my friend had chicken madras with rice, plain nann, and veggie samosa for apps. The restaurant is also quite nice with tasteful decor and great table decor. I 'm English and grew up on Indian food, so I'm pretty picky about my Indian....So cheers to Taste of India - your now my favorite restaurant for Indian food.

We finally have a good Indian restaurant here. Service is good and friendly, portions are very generous, prices are reasonable and the food outstanding. The staff will help you decide on certain dishes to your taste. If you don't like this Indian restaurant don't ever bother to try an Indian restaurant again.

Best Indian restaurant I've been to. High quality food with a wide range of choices instead of the typical curry and rice. We tried barbequed prawns, vegetarian coconut dishes, different types of naan and excellent crispy dosa. The dessert, rasmalai, delicious. They also serve you complimentary chickpea chips with three differently colored dipping sauces. I will be going there again, despite the long drive.

This is right at the top of Indian restaurants anywhere! Everyone we came into contact with there was incredibly nice in a down-to-earth way, not the fake way restauranteurs often display. The food was absolutely delicious! We over ordered a bit, but we wanted to taste many things. From the samosa chaat to the various naan to the lamb curry to everything...it was 5 stars!

I love Indian food. Both real and fake lol. I say this because my favorite "Indian" dish inst even Indian, i.e. tikka misala Having living in Ireland & England which has unbelievable Indian food for some reason, I'm definitely picky. The girl and I went on a mission over a few weeks and tried several Indian restaurants. This is the only one we have returned to. Love it. Bit out of the way but worth the drive

This is worst restaurant for vegetarian people because of very few option. Moreover, the staff has very high level of attitude and arrogance. If you ask for a naan, they will give a look as if you are eating for free of cost. And, this is the only restaurant in US which charge 18% gratuity for single buffet entry.

My wife and I had a pleasant dinner here. Service is as advertised... Probably the best service I've ever experienced at an Indian or Pakistani restaurant. Food off the menu is average. Though the weekend buffet is as baller as Indian buffets get. Dosa station, elaborate grilled selection, lots of salans, beautifully carved fruit station... and legit desserts. Not cheap, so be prepared to spend.

This Zagat rated restaurant sits in the auto dealer zone on Okeechobee and is a hidden treasure. The lunch buffet features a lot of unusual items which you don't see at other local Indian eateries, including a goat dish that was surprisingly good. Lots of chutneys. Indian ginger ale. They need to be kinder to the chicken dishes in the buffet, which were surprisingly hard, so they lose a star. Hopefully when I try it again they'll fix that and earn it back. In every way otherwise it was a 5 star experience.

Excellent Indian! I often scoff at the spiciness of dishes labeled as "hot" but Taste of India did not disappoint with their Vindaloo. It was fabulous fire!! The naan, laasis and vegetable dishes were all excellent. Highly recommended if you enjoy Indian cuisine.

Awesome South Indian Food, and the service is excellent. Iv been there with my kids and parents and to be honest I haven't had any complains so far. I love that they have a chat corner on their menu and its affordable too. I wish they had the South Indian and North Indian Thali option like some other Indian restaurants. 06/7/2014 I was here last week with my mom and although the staff were courteous, the food wasn't that satisfactory. I asked and found out that the owners or chef were changed and knew the reason. The buffet items were either too oily or too spicy that even I couldn't handle it. And they don't keep any variety in Sweet section of buffet every time its the same thing Rice pudding and Carrot Halwa. Before the staff changed I used to love their Sambar(Veg Soup) now it had a burned flavor in it. Oh well I guess it was good while it lasted.

I have been craving excellent Indian food since moving from New York City a few years ago. Found it! Wow, I wish I knew about this place earlier. Everything was perfectly prepared. If you like spicy, the gobi manchurian is awesome -- the cauliflower is delicately crispy without being totally fried. And the aloo gobi was delicious as well. Thumbs way up!

I am a lucky girl because I had two of my best meals ever, back to back. I went here Saturday for my 30th birthday. Our group was of 6, and we were all pleased. The menu is extensive, service is friendly, and the food is interesting, tasty, complex... We shared a chicken 65 and veggie sampler for the appetizer, which were both tasty. I had the tomato soup and my mom and stepdad shared the chickpea salad. Both were complex yet simple and delicious. I had the madras lamb, but also tasted my husband's chili garlic shrimp, and brother's chicken tikka masala. Both Excellent!! My daughter had a mild chicken appetizer which was recommended by the waiter and she (and I) liked it very much. Service wasn't the fastest, but we were a large group and there were 2 other larg(er) groups of over 10 also there, so it was to be expected. They went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and taken care of, explaining dishes, and even answering my questions about a "typical old school" Indian birthday celebration. They really did go out of their way and even sang to me when they brought out my birthday cake, and wished me a Happy Birthday in Hindi as I left. We will be back, as will my mother and stepdad, and we will be bringing friends!

Went here for dinner and the food was great! Got the chicken vindaloo and it was super spicy but it was the type of spicy that made the dish delicious, not overpowering. Service was good, the staff came by to check and refill our drinks (which is a plus in my husband's book). Definitely want to try out the buffet!

I love Indian food, this place is amazing. The people that work there are very nice and it's a very cozy place to go to. The food is amazing very authentic. My hubby and I shared a plate of food because it was a lot, we got the chicken vidaloo which is spicy and it comes with the basmati rice. Didn't try the nan because I'm trying to keep the calories low :-). I have tried lassi but this lassi was awsome, I tried the strawberry one and it was as good as the mango one.

Food here is absolutely delicious, I came here on a Sunday for a buffet. The food was brightly laid out and everything was fresh and amazingly delicious. The host and everyone is extremely friendly. I especially loved the the daal pakwaan and the naan they make fresh and bring to your table side. All of their curry is amazing as well, I will definitively be back again!

This is a nice, airy, comfortable, clean and large restaurant. The food is very delicious and does not taste like imitation Indian food. Every dish is made perfect and is nice.and hot in temperature. They have a variety of meat and poultry dishes as well as a large assortment of vegetable dishes. I pretty much tried everything at the buffet but the dessert....which I'm sure is also very yummy because it looked it. The dishes are nice and mild and there are several chutney and hot sauce.options you can add to them. The service here is superb and friendly. I will definitely go back again.

WOW! Run, don't walk, to this outstanding restaurant. Yes, it's a little out of the way for anyone coming from downtown West Palm Beach or the airport, but it is WORTH the drive. Incredibly flavorful dishes are offered up from the moment you take your seat, with warm service from all the staff. This was my first time here, and I will definitely return on all my trips through West Palm Beach. Outstanding!

The food was terrific. The team service approach didn't work out too well during my visit though. During the middle of the meal, no one ever stopped by our table as they were busy working other tables. I'll still go back since the food was great.

The Maharaja buffet is an easy 5 stars. It kicks major ass. It's the best and most robust variety of cuisine I've ever seen in an Indian buffet and the quality is superb. Too bad the Maharaja is only the weekends.

The Sunday brunch is the best!! I like Indian food and the spices, Being Greek, I like the eggplant dishes and the herbs and spinach. The staff is willing to educate you if you are new to the food, and they will help with which chutney for each dish.. Every now and then I simply MUST get my curry on at Sunday brunch here. you have to try it, if you are not afraid of food. The curried goat is just yummy!!

Drove out on a Friday night and was happy to see the place was pretty busy (always a good sign). The decor inside is pretty nice and modern, which is rare for an Indian joint. My boyfriend and I shared an order of chicken tikka masala and some plain and garlic naan bread, which was plenty for the both of us. The chicken was so tender it literally melted in my mouth. Best tikka i've had in a while. I'll definitely be back!

This review is based on two lunch time buffets. I have also been there for a dinner. I am very, very satisfied with this Indian restaurant (and if you see my other reviews of Indian places, that is a rarity). I give it 4 1/2 stars out of 5. A Taste of India is attractive and spacious, with comfortable booths. Service is smily and attentive. Prices are appropriate for the environment and food. A number of Indian patrons always makes me feel good. Lunch buffet was $13.99 on Saturday. Very large variety and many of exceptional taste and quality. Nothing was bad on this really huge, varied buffet. About a dozen main dishes! Tremendous number of condiments, too. Highlight of which was the superb home made lemon pickle. Tamarind sauce was thick (many other places water it down) and the mango chutney was very delicious. The buffet was a mix of mostly north India and some south indian cuisine. There was a lot of flavor but nothing incendiary (which would have been nice for me, but...). Buffet included a Bengali fish curry with a broth like sauce, a reasonably good chicken tikka masala, an eggplant masala (loved it, mushy and delicious flavor), a savory goat curry (in a dark sauce), a saag paneer (bit ont he creamy side with added treat of a few veggies in it), a serviceable chicken biriyani, a south indian vegetable dish with hint of coconut flavor, a chili chicken (lightly fried indo-chinese style dish), south indian iddly and vadi (i never cared for them, personally, anywhere, even in tamil nadu), and a tandoori vegetable dish that was nothing special but not bad. The tandoori chicken, which is where most buffets fail, was served fresh and tender. Loved it with the mango chutney and tamarind sauce atop. There was second type of chicken served with the usual reddish variety of tandoori chicken but i did not try it. Probably was getting too full. The appetizer table (yes, this buffet is huge) had amongst other things a delightful, room temperature yogurt rice and an okay chola batura (chick peas,) as well as salads which i ignored for obvious reasons. Complimentary mini-sized masala dosa were brought to table when we are at the buffet area so we missed them being hot. However, the coconut chutney and slightly salty veggie sambar were perfect traditional south indian toppings for it. The tandoori naan were okay but not great. I prefer my naan hot out of the oven with some browned, ripped pockets and a touch of ghee. There were 4 offerings of dessert of which the firni and halwa were really great. A bit of a strange strawberry "cheese" mush along side an ordinary gulab jamon, but no complaints considering the wide choice. In summation, I think it was perhaps the best indian food i have had in southeast florida (with the qualification that i never ate Indian in Miami). And this was a buffet!

I've only been for the lunch buffet, but it's always been wonderful (4-5 times in the last six months). It always has different offerings, sometimes focusing on a central theme. The last time I went, it must have been coconut because by the end of the meal I felt fully saturated in coconut which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Service is very nice.

I asked the man that works at Indian Bazaar for any other Indian restaurants he might recommend and he was happy to inform me of Taste of India. It's located in a plaza (next to Grand Lakes Chinese) on Okeechobee just two lights west of Jog Rd. Very nice Indian restaurant aesthetically. Very spacious and really nice decor. Extremely extensive menu. I don't think I've been to another Indian restaurant with so many options. i guess that's a good thing just not for me since I'm so indecisive! However, I was not impressed with the food so much. It was horrible just a bit Americanized to me. I still prefer Indus or taste of India.

Here's the deal - as an Indian myself and a vegetarian to boot, I am not easy to please when it comes to Indian Food (as you can see from my earlier reviews)....however, this place deserves FIVE STARS! We went on a Friday evening, based on a recommendation from a coworker and found the place in a strip mall. Step inside though and you find yourself practically transported to a different world. The ornamental coverings on the wall come from all over India, but there are some real works of art from the state of Kerala, which is where most of the staff hails from. We were promptly seated in a booth and found the menu to be extensive, covering both south and north India offerings. My wide decided to go with a masala dosa, while I stuck to my standard test for a new Indian resturant - malai kofta. Its a complicated dish but if you get that right, you should be good at most other stuff, right?...Well, when the food arrived, we found the Malai Kofta to be excellent! Just the right blend of nuts and cream in the curry sauce along with really well composed veggie balls. The naans (both the butter naan and the peshawari naan) were perfectly tandoor'ed and were delicious. On the south Indian side, the masala dosa was crispy with just the right filling and the vada we had ordered for our soon-to-be-4-year-old was so good, that we all decided to share with him! But what you can use to tell a good south Indian restaurant apart from the REALLY GOOD ones though are the chutneys and sambhars.....and Taste of India passed with flying colors in that department as well! The experience was made complete by the excellent service of the staff. There were about 6 people waiting tables but unlike the Mint Leaf (in Miami) where the staff just stood around near the bar, these folks were all moving quickly, partnering to wait all the tables - in fact, during the hour there, we were served by all 6 of them, a true display of "team service"! Everyone had a smile on their face and actually seemed happy to be waiting on us. What's more - prices are really reasonable and our total at the end of the evening was well short of $50. I think we have found our "Go-to" Indian restaurant in South Florida.....looking forward to trying out the weekend buffet that other reviewers have so praised!

  • Mike B.

Great food, friendly staff. Service can be slightly inconsistent. Since they usually have multiple people waiting a table, as a result sometimes wait staff gets their signals crossed and doesn't stop by often enough. This minor gripe is way overshadowed by the awesome food. We'd been searching for a good Indian place in PBC (besides The Pelican in LW, but they only do dinner on Fridays.) Taste of India is now our regular place.

  • John C.

The first thing we noticed when we walked through the door was how clean the place is. Nice ambiance and wall decorations. My wife and son had the buffet while I ordered from the menu. We were served promptly, and the waiters were very attentive filling up our glasses. The food was EXCELLENT! and the cost was very reasonable. Unfortunately we live on the west coast and don't get over to the east coast that often, but we'll definitely eat here again next time we come this way.
